Recently, I work primarily on simple construction in the Global Village, help out at work with the animals and write for the magazine "Heifer Hands" which is published by Heifer International. Otherwise, I cast my lot with the time currently juggling, writing, and workouts ...

Next week will arrive here around 20 new volunteers to support us then over the spring. 6 volunteers come into the Education Department.

Barack Obama's swearing in as the 44th President of the United States


Today was the so-called inauguration, the Amtsvereidigung Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America. We here at the ranch for the afternoon to get extra free to give us the live pictures from Washington to watch on TV. Jacob, Education Coordinator is even extra run to be physically present to Washington.

All in all, the swearing-in typically American: Patriotic, Christian, and Personal. I was disturbed at the end of it even something that constantly Obama's family (wife, children, grandparents, brother, etc.) were shown on TV. I almost get the feeling that the Americans have not elected Barack Obama as an individual, but the whole Obama family to the White House. It even goes so far that the people here know even how Barack Obama's uncle, aunt, cousins, etc. are called. If I do this with Germany see where I can say not even, as the wife of Horst Köhler is, let alone how she looks, so it seems that our choice in Germany to be but somehow fixed everything on the person who takes really the office.
